Discussing Bacterial Kidney Disease in Great Lakes Fish

During our fishing charter last weekend we caught a Steelhead with a severe case of BKD. She was very thin and she released her eggs all over the deck of the boat – what a mess. I thought it would be good timing to post a video on this disease that is becoming more and more prevalent in the Steelhead we see.

Eggs Everywhere!! Laker Eggs All Over the Boat!

IMG_20150620_114854_705Never had this happen before.  Eggs from a Lake Trout all over the deck.  They are just like perfectly round marbles.  What a mess they went everywhere while trying to clean them up.

Too big to go through the drains, too small to pick up, hard to spray out the back.

What a mess. But I guess that’s where the next year’s fish come from right?

Father’s Day Weekend – Share the Boat Opportunity… ???

As we approach Father’s Day Weekend the fishing is beginning to heat up. Our fishing adventures have been interesting with each day bringing different fishing conditions. Lake Trout have dominated the catch with a few kings within the mix.

This Saturday we have a small group ready to go of just two people. They would be interested in sharing the boat if anyone is interested, please give me a call – see below. This would be a perfect opportunity for a Father and Son(s) to get out at a reduced cost.
